About
Project Ada is a brand-new site covering news, opinion and features on women and gender equality in technology.
Think the name sounds odd? We were inspired by nineteenth-century mathematician Ada Lovelace, who’s often described as the world’s first computer programmer.
Ada Lovelace, known for her work on Charles Babbage’s early mechanical general-purpose computer, the Analytical Engine, was the first person to realise that the machine’s potential ran far beyond number-crunching, and in time would be able to produce music, art, and more.
A hundred years later she was proven right.
The site is run by Clara Guibourg, Ashley Kirk, Keila Guimarães and Sam Walsh.
